WOODSMOKE
A rural location, photographic studios and creative space in the Dorset countryside.
Woodsmoke is a unique photographic and filming location set within a beautifully converted, timber–clad barn, surrounded by woodland and open countryside.
Designed with photography, film and food production in mind, Woodsmoke combines two fully equipped studios – a working coffee bar – commercial kitchen – extensive prop collection – beautiful outdoor locations — all within one private site.
It is a place where you can arrive with a crew and spend the whole day creating.
The Kitchen Studio
At the heart of Woodsmoke is our Kitchen Studio, originally designed specifically for professional food photography and production.
Centred around a fully equipped commercial kitchen, the studio is ideal for food – tabletop – still life – recipe films – cooking demonstrations + moving–image production.
Alongside the kitchen is a flexible shooting area, with access to our dedicated prop cupboard containing an extensive collection of surfaces – ceramics – glassware –cutlery – cookware + tabletop props.
A separate rear kitchen provides additional preparation, storage and working space for food stylists and production teams, keeping the main studio clear for shooting.
Excellent soundproofing also makes the space particularly useful for interviews, podcasts and sound–recorded content.
The Loft Studio
Upstairs, the Loft Studio is Woodsmoke's largest shooting space — bright, open and full of character.
With generous floor space and beautiful natural light, it is particularly suited to portraiture – fashion – lifestyle – interviews – filming + larger photographic setups.
The simplicity of the space makes it easy to transform while retaining the warmth and texture of the original barn.
An adjoining private room can be used for hair + makeup – wardrobe – changing – talent holding or equipment storage, allowing the main studio to remain uncluttered throughout the shoot.
The Coffee Bar
At the centre of the location is our own coffee bar and café space.
Originally created as part of Woodsmoke rather than as a public café, it gives crews and clients somewhere comfortable to gather – work – eat + take a break between setups.
It is also a location in its own right, providing another distinctive interior for lifestyle photography and filming.
Outside Woodsmoke
Step outside and the location really opens up.
Woodsmoke sits amongst woodland, fields and open countryside, providing constantly changing textures – colours + light throughout the seasons.
Around the barn are numerous smaller locations and details to discover — timber walls – pathways – seating areas + our woodshed with its wood burner, creating intimate pockets that can be dressed or used just as they are.
From frosty winter mornings and smoke curling from the wood burner to long summer evenings amongst the trees, the outside space gives productions an enormous amount of variety without having to move location.

Woodsmoke has been developed by people who understand what a photographic and film crew actually needs.
Both studios have single–phase and three–phase power, with easy access for equipment and production.
There is ample on–site parking for crew, clients and production vehicles, dedicated preparation + storage areas plus props + surfaces on hand with plenty of space for a production to spread out comfortably.
